Pencils by Residentlilly, Inks by Joe Eiden, Color by Me
I was going to work on some Izryell pencils, but he hasn’t replied to my e-mails
. So I started looking for a new piece from Residentlilly, and ran into this baby. I think it turned out pretty well, and although there are little issues I have with some of my color choices, it was pretty fun to work on. There WAS going to be a Screen Cap video to go along with it, but my computer crashed during the 12 hour long Encoding process, and I didn’t really feel like going through all that trouble again just to make a video that only ten people are going to watch.

Welcome to Magmoman.com!
I’ll start out by introducing myself, and my “mission”. The name’s Talon Kelley, but you can call me Magmoman
. I’m an Digital Artist from Denver Colorado, and a pretty awesome guy. I suppose this sums up the basics. So… if you wish to know more about me and my work, well head on over to the Info Page, and your wish will be granted
.

The day has finally come! I’ve been working on this baby for a good 3-4 months and it’s my first full fledged Web Site design; and I think it turned out pretty well
. I did everything you see, from the initial mock-up, to the intensive coding. If you right click and select “View Source”, you’ll see a whole lot of mind numbing code. Yep, that’s all me
. I’ll be posting new blogs AT LEAST once a week (but probably more often than that) on topics ranging from my New Art, Thoughts/Ideas, Tech How-To’s, and many more. So make sure and check back often, or subscribe to my RSS Feed!
I thought I’d make my first official blog post about how I created the site. First, I’ll start out by quoting my Site Info (no better place to start I suppose), that can be found on the Info Page:
“Let me start by saying this: if you’re using Internet Explorer 7 or below, I would highly recommend you either ditch it and get Firefox, or at least upgrade to Internet Explorer 8. Yes, I know that many of you are using work computers that you don’t have Administrative power over, but if you’re on a home computer, Do it! But why, you ask?
Well, without boring you with talk of the W3C Standards, I’ll simply say that there are rules that all browsers/web developers follow in order to give you the most consistent browser experience possible. Yet the idiots who made Internet Explorer 1-7 seemed to think they were above following the rules of Web Design. I ran into countless bugs trying to making this Web Site work with Internet Explorer, and when a Web Designer has to go hours out of their way because the tards that designed IE didn’t want to follow the rules, that’s a problem.
Anyway’s, enough of the rant. I created this site for two main purposes. 1) As a Portfolio for my Art, and 2) As a Blog Spot. It took me about 3 months to design and code this whole thing, and everything you see was made from scratch. One thing you’ll notice is that the font is pretty small. I did this on purpose, mainly because it fit the overall layout more efficiently. If you want to read it in a larger font, go ahead and open Menu, View, and Zoom In on your browser. I won’t mind
. Oh, and if you’re wondering about the Voice, yes its computerized
. I tested out using my own voice, but decided my “voice-acting”/vocal tone is extremely annoying. I may be a “Jack of All Trades”, but I’m sorry to say that acting isn’t in my skill set
. And no, I’m not Australian, I just thought the Aussie accent had a nice sound to it, and wasn’t as generic as an American or British TTS voice.
One of my central goals on the Info Page was to go further than most people go. I like to think of my commitment to giving you awesome content on this site, the same as my commitment to Art. I don’t want to just follow the crowd in Web Design. I strive to be better than most, and I think I’ve accomplished that to the best of my abilities. But don’t worry, as my Web Developer knowledge grows, so will the content and awesomeness of this site.
Unlike 75% of the web sites out there, my goal is to supply you with information about my life, art, and interests, not to take advantage of your time and screen real estate. I bought this domain specifically for that purpose. My hard earned money means that you don’t have to come here and see a Viagra link on the header. And my sidebar isn’t going to ask you if you’re looking for “Sexy Singles in Your Area”. Whenever you go to a web site from now on, count how many ads you see. It will tell you a lot about their business practices, and show you how much/little they care about giving you a nice experience. That being said, many sites need revenue to stay afloat. But when they go overboard (ie Myspace), they are just embarrassing themselves. Unintentionally, there may be 10 second ads on my music videos. I had to make the decision of either giving you a low quality YouTube video, or a high quality Yahoo Music one; and I chose Quality Videos for you to watch. Kind of like a “Catch-22″ I suppose. If you don’t want to see the ad (which I can totally understand), you can either install the Firefox addon Adblock (kind of a must-have for Firefox users), or you can head over to YouTube and do a search for the video.
Now you may be reading this and thinking to yourself “His language and the manner he presents himself isn’t very professional!”. My goal is to show you the real me, so talking like a robot (no pun intended
) and straying from comedy is not how I live my life. But on the flip-side of that, if you are a prospective client, I have no problem creating works that fit your style, be it professional or no.
So, got some Questions? Looking for a Commission Piece? Got some Feedback? Hey, just send me an e-mail at Magmoman@gmail.com, and I’ll get back to you within the day .
So enjoy the site, and come back often! And if you want to subscribe to my RSS Feed, well I’ve provided that for you as well. Magmoman… out!”
Wow, that was a lot to read, am I right? Well, since I’m awesome, I provided little play buttons to everything on the Info Page, so you won’t have to actually “read” it
. Instead, a sweet little Aussie TTS Voice will read it for you. Isn’t that nice? It’s the little things like that, that I hope you enjoy and make use of. I didn’t go through all the trouble making features like that for you to ignore them ![]()
So anyways, I hope you enjoy the site, and I hope you come back often to see what’s new in my world. Feel free to leave a comment, and if you use RSS, you should definitely subscribe to my feed. If not, you should Bookmark me. On top of that, if you use Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Vimeo, Youtube, or even DeviantArt, why don’t you add me to your friends list? I won’t bite
.
